2016-04-03 Armenia Launches Full-Scale Attacks against Azerbaijan

On April 2, 2016 Armenia's armed forces launched full-scale attacks against Azerbaijan, targeting primarily civilians. Here is the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan: 

"On April 2, 2016 Armenia targeting civilians densely residing in the territories adjacent to the frontline area opened intensive heavy weapons fire at the positions of Azerbaijan’s armed forces along the line of contact. As a result of artillery attacks of Armenian armed forces a number of civilians were killed and seriously wounded. Substantial damages were also inflicted upon the private and public properties.

The armed forces of Azerbaijan have taken the necessary counter measures within its internationally recognized borders to ensure the safety of civilian population, to stop the provocations of Armenia and to deter it from further acts of aggression. 2015-10-31 Armenian Armed Forces Violate Ceasefire During OSCE Monitoring

Upon initial agreement the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs passed from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan through the line of contact between the armed forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan to the territories controlled by Azerbaijan army. At the very moment a ceasefire monitoring exercise was conducted by the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office and his field officers on the road between Tartar and Aghdara (Tartar district of Azerbaijan). Despite prior agreement to undertake measures to ensure safety of the OSCE personnel, repeated gunfire was shot from the occupied territories controlled by Armenia’s armed forces in the direction of the positions of the armed forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Read More...

 

2015-05-04 Statement of Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry regarding the illegal "election" in Azerbaijan's occupied territory ...

According to the press reports, on May 3, 2015, Armenia has conducted the so-called “elections” to the “parliament” of the puppet separatist regime it has established in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

These “elections” constitute a clear violation of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the norms and principles of international law, and, therefore, have no legal effect whatsoever. Read More...
